The location is about 20 mins walk from Kawaguchi station. We sent our bigger luggages to Matsumoto with Yamato transport and packed light for Hakone and Lake Kawaguchi. It’s a hostel vibe with common kitchen and dining / living room area for hangout but we booked a Japanese style room with private bathroom here. It was perfect for a couple, pretty spacious, clean and quiet during our 3 nights stay to sleep. For staying 3 nights, we got a free laundry voucher and were able to do a load of laundry, washer and dryer both worked fine. No comments on the bike as we prefer to walk around. Past the bridge and the north side of Lake Kawaguchi, you get fantastic views of Mount Fuji at various locations.

I do believe I finally stayed at a hostel that I legitimately LOVED. I’m very critical of anywhere you have to stay with random strangers in the same room, and this was the best of this kind of lodging I’ve been in. I was downstairs in a room that had several other beds, but the way that the “bunks” are constructed means that there is practically no sound when people shift around in their beds, even in the ones directly above or below you. It was honestly a bit more similar in feel to a capsule hotel, as the space of the bed is very large (by Japanese standards, at 6’4” my feet were on the edge of the container which just can’t be helped 🤣) and all constructed of solid wood. I was able to do laundry for the first time on my 3 week trip and not just wash clothes in the shower, and the kitchen/dining area is large and super nice. The vibe was incredibly welcoming and it reminded me of the best aspects of some of the albergue hostels I stayed in in Spain, with some people leaving behind free cooking items, so there are basic spices, oil, and they also provide free coffee and tea in the morning. It really felt like staying at a friend’s house more so than a hotel, and I was able to sleep extremely well which was much-needed after having a cold. Highly recommended.

Lovely hostel near Lake Kawaguchiko. The beds were comfy and had a small place to lock valuables, a light & an outlet. There was a big kitchen with everything you need and a big common area, so there was plenty of space to relax after a day of exploring. The location is perfect, close to a bus stop, a 2 minute walk to a Lawsons & a short walk to the lake. All the areas in the hostel were kept very clean, including the shower & toilets. We also got a voucher for free laundry which was great.

Really nice staff - Yuki was particularly helpful at check in and with arranging my luggage to be forwarded to my next location. The hostel was clean and the beds were comfortable. The shower was hot and the pressure was good. There is a cosy and homely feel to this hostel which I haven’t experienced before. I had a really enjoyable stay here and would recommend either of these hostels to people coming to visit Fuji!

This place was definitely one of the better hostels I’ve been to. Rooms were a nice layout. Everyone was really respectful. Staff was always with a smile and more than happy to help. Everything was always very clean and orderly. Probably one of the cleanest hostels I’ve been to. Always very quiet and peaceful. Common rooms were nice as well. They also stored our luggage both before and after checkin which was helpful and organized.

Small but quaint hostel, clean enough for this price point, I only needed somewhere to crash for the night so this was perfect. About a 7min walk from the Kawaguchiko station, staff spoke good English, communal toilets and showers at every floor. The reception staff seem to also be responsible for the room cleaning so the reception will be empty at 11am.

Having spent some time in a very small hotel room in Tokyo it was great to have plenty of room. There was a nice lounge area where we could talk to other guests and a spacious l, well equipped kitchen. There was a great supermarket just ten minutes walk away (Ogden). Lake Kawaguchi was about 400 yards away where we got a great view of Mount Fuji. So long as you are ok sharing the facilities with other guests, I would thoroughly recommend this place. I should mention that we stayed in a private room rather than a dormitory. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Ks is near the red line bus but a far walk from the bus and train station. Its a good value especially if you’d like to use the kitchen. You can apply a 10% discount if you stay at other Ks.

The staff were super friendly and the facilities were great - big kitchen with free supply of herbs and such for cooking, and the lounge area was so cosy and nice - I didn't know there would be a small traditional Japanese area with a kotatsu but it was wonderful to sit in there and relax while they played ghibli piano medleys on the speakers. It's also so close to the lake where you can get great views and do some of the touristy things like the cable car and boat tours. Just walk 5 mins down the main road and when you turn around, BAM there's the mountain in all its glory haha.

The room was greater than expected! The price was reasonable for a Japanese-style room, and all the available amenities. There is a large common room where you can sit, relax and have food. I loved the Japanese-style seating:) The kitchen is clean and spacious.
